Below is a quick tour of a recently commissioned three subject, 22" x 24", family portrait painting using classical sepia tones.
The process began when the client emailed the following reference photographs.

Within a few days the client received the following emailed composition sketches to review.

Client and artist collaborated on refinements and an additional proof was emailed.

Client approved composition and the following week received color study of portrait in desired sepia tones. Initial colors are applied using large oil brush strokes.

A second proof features the completed background.

A third proof shows completed wardrobe.

Fourth proof features completed subjects.

Fifth proof shows close-up on each subject compared to original image.

Upon final approval, client chose to receive proofs of the completed portrait in different frame styles. Below are a few.



The second frame proof included an enlargement, close-up, and detailed diagram.


After selecting a frame the client received the framed original work of art within 4 weeks of commissioning the painting. The portrait arrived ready to hang, complete with hanging wire and wall hook.
